Gaunt Angelina Jolie takes her twins Vivienne and Knox to visit Brad Pitt on set

Her fragile form has attracted huge criticism over recent years.

But Angelina Jolie looked particularly gaunt as she took twins Vivienne and Knox to visit their father Brad Pitt on set in Los Angeles.

Scrawny arms exposed by a sleeveless top and minuscule legs highlighted by tight black trousers, she looked barely strong enough to carry Vivienne.

But she was obviously in full 'mummy mode' as she had one of the childrens' blankets flung casually over one shoulder and the other in her mouth.

Jolie, 35, recently appeared on screen in action thriller Salt where her role as a hard-as-nails CIA agent sat a little uncomfortably with her frail physique.

She is currently having a break from filming while Brad works on new project Moneyball alongside Superbad star Jonah Hill at Sony Studios in Culver City.

The film tells the story of a baseball club's general manager as he attempts to put together a team on a budget.

Jolie has also been working this week, in her role as UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador.

She lent her support to a Public Service Announcement to raise awareness about the flood in Pakistan.

The actress was today spotted at Heathrow Airport as she passed through London on her way out to the devastated country.
