Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Affectionate Night Out at DGA awards

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie stepped out Saturday night to attend the Directors Guild of America Awards in Los Angeles – and observers say the couple were as happy as can be.

"They looked very giggly," an onlooker tells PEOPLE.

Pitt, who was at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza to introduce his Inglourious Basterds director Quentin Tarantino, was an attentive companion to Jolie, a surprise guest, who wore a gray, single-shoulder Elie Saab gown with gold hoop earrings by Ofira Schwartz, Stuart Weitzman shoes and a vintage bag.

Pitt, whose curious beard has been trimmed, pulled Jolie's chair out for her and touched her back throughout the night as they chatted animatedly with Tarantino at a table of colleagues from the film.

"They look like they are having a fun time," says an onlooker of the couple as they worked the room. "It's definitely a date."

While Pitt spoke on stage, Angelina sat and smiled. Here's BBC video of her.

Brad & Angelina Conquer Awards Season by Not Showing Up

Whether or not they still consider themselves a couple, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie totally conquered the headlines this week as a team.

Not that either one of them did anything. But the beauteous parents of six haven't been seen together since Christmastime and Brad has skipped the red-carpet season, despite Inglourious Basterd's glorious showing.

Hmm, curiouser and curiouser...

We've also got Jay on Oprah, a look at the SAG Awards, Idol chatter and seven days' worth of news squished together, all right here in your Week in Review:

1. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have been together for nearly five years. (No one will ever know the true date on which Brangelina was conceived.) They have six kids, three adopted and three of their own. And they're unarguably lovely to look at. So is that why it seems as if the tabloids aren't willing to rest until they've broken up? The duo have thrived in the face of breakup rumors before, but their lack of face time on the red carpet this awards season—and now Angie's skipping the Oscars!—have inquiring minds wondering more than ever before. E! News did its best to dismantle a report that Jolie cheated, but the glossies are quite persistent. And you know who gets to share those covers when Brangelina are said to be in trouble... (Hint: It's not Jon Voight.)

2. Instead of endearing himself to fans with an appearance on Oprah, who acknowledged that America has "taken sides," Jay Leno further antagonized on-again late-night rival Jimmy Kimmel with that whole "sucker punch" comment. Calling his retirement announcement years ago a "white lie" and admitting to not calling Conan since he re-took over the Tonight Show might not have helped, either.

3. Johnny Depp is A-L-I-V-E (gosh-dang Internet hoaxters) and, as far as we're concerned, doing very, very well.

4. Brittany Murphy's husband, Simon Monjack, says he blames Warner Bros. Pictures for causing the grief that led to his 32-year-old wife's cardiac arrest, saying Murphy never recovered from being fired off of Happy Feet 2. The studio dares the grieving widower to sue, calling any suggestion that they contributed to Murphy's death "demonstrably false, reprehensible and defamatory." Aside from the fact that she wasn't under contract and therefore couldn't be fired, according to WB, no lawyer we talked to has ever heard of such a claim going the distance in court.

5. So much promise, so much buzz... in 2006. Without further ado, Ugly Betty's cancellation was confirmed this week, its 22-episode season getting pared down to 20 and the window for securing Chris Gorham's return growing just a little smaller. And here's hoping Betty finds a new orthodontist who's not in love with her so that those braces can come off!

In further tube talk: We—and you!—loved Neil Patrick Harris on American Idol...Samantha Harris is leaving Dancing With the Stars...peep the first four minutes of Lost's season premiere...Victoria Beckham's headed to The View...Jason Mesnick's going to marry Molly Malaney, the one he almost let get away, on, you guessed it, TV!...Mad Men's cast is in flux.

7. Inglourious Basterds was the big cheese at the 2010 SAG Awards and The Hurt Locker was praised by the PGA. Family Life Wearing on Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Says Source

Rumors that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were breaking up may have been false, but a source close to the couple claims their relationship is in trouble, according to Us Weekly.

The magazine reports that Jolie feels she is doing most of the work parenting their six kids. "Angie felt like Brad wasn't pulling his weight," an unnamed source said. With their children at different ages -- Maddox, 8, Pax, 6, Zahara, 5, Shiloh, 3, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 18 months -- Jolie is reportedly exhausted keeping up with them. "She has nannies, but she wants to do it herself," the source said. "Her kids are all in different stages now, running around, needing attention."

The source claims the actress has become more demanding of her 46-year-old partner. "She'll yell at [Pitt] when he makes the eggs too runny or burns something," the source said.

Earlier this month, reports circulated that the superstars had met with a divorce attorney to divide their estate and determine the custody of their children, several friends say the rumors are "totally false," according to People. "Everything is fine," said one unnamed source.

London's News of the World reported on Sunday that Pitt and Jolie met with high-profile divorce lawyers in California. "The paperwork is already organized for a breakup - and for it to be as unmessy for them as possible," the paper reported. "The contract was like a tailor-made version of a prenuptial agreement ... It seemed clear they want the world to know they'll both play a part in the upbringing of the children."

Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie Were 'Out at Dinner' When Split Rumors Broke

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie weren't fretting over recent false reports that they were headed for splitsville. As the rumor mill was spinning out of control, the couple of nearly five years were enjoying some quiet time together, a source tells PEOPLE.

"Angie and Brad were actually out to dinner together in Los Angeles when the rumor broke," says the source. "That's how ridiculous [the story] is."

At the time, multiple sources told PEOPLE the report, which originated in a British tabloid, was "totally false."

Currently, the pair are sharing family time in Los Angeles with their kids Maddox, 8, Pax, 6, Zahara, 5, Shiloh, 3, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 18 months.

As for whether Hollywood's golden couple will attend this year's Academy Awards together in March, at the moment their schedule includes filming so they don't have plans to be there, says a source.

Insider says Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie did meet with lawyer - to protect their $330 million assets

We hear Brad Pitt isn't planning to come a-knockin' - just yet, anyway.

After days of speculation about a possible breakup between Mr. Pitt and his other half, Angelina Jolie, word is surfacing that the power couple did indeed visit a high-powered L.A. lawyer last week - but only to cover their assets.

"They aren't married, so they need to protect their children and property in case there's a rift in the future," a source says.

That certainly makes sense, considering the two are worth a whopping $330 million combined.

So why are rumors of a breakup running rampant?

"People hear 'legal papers' and assume it means a divorce," our snitch continues. "But it could mean exactly the opposite. Either way, they're making sure to get their ducks in a row, which they'll need whether they split or stay together forever."

That's not the only reason for so many whispers: Rumors started swirling when the couple was a no-show to a pair of recent award programs.

"There was a lot of talk when they didn't attend the Globes or the SAG awards this past weekend," says the insider.
"But that's not entirely out of the ordinary for them. Although 'Inglourious Basterds' was nominated, Brad wasn't up for anything individually, and neither was Angelina. Besides, they're Brangelina. They can do whatever they want."

Most recently, that includes adding a $1.1 million mansion to their five-house compound in Los Feliz, Calif. While naysayers speculate it could be a bachelor pad for Brad, staffers at the Waldorf-Astoria in NYC - where the A-list duo stays regularly - believe Jolie-Pitt are very much still intact.

"They always seem happy and busy with the kids," one staff member told us Tuesday, adding that Brangelina most recently visited in November. "And they're never here apart."

Jennifer Aniston Donates $500,000 to Haiti Relief

Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt have more in common than Angelina Jolie flying into a jealous rage at them - they're both among stars donating major bucks to Haiti.

The actress has given $500,000 to Doctors Without Borders, Partners in Health and AmeriCares for their recovery efforts in the disaster-stricken Caribbean nation.

Aniston also participated in Friday's star-studded Hope for Haiti Now telethon, which as of today has raised a mammoth $58 million. Well done, Jen and everyone!

Jennifer Aniston mans the phones for a good cause.

Jen gets a bad rap for being pathetic and lonely, and for possibly meddling in the love life of Brangelina, but this leaves no doubt what a terrific person she is.

Angelina Jolie's adopted children made into 'fashion accessories' in online game

The game, My Minx, also encourages girls as young as seven to give their characters contraceptives and morning after pills.

Players clothe their "virtual minxes" in lingerie and other revealing outfits and can buy orphans named after the adopted children of celebrities including Madonna and Ewan McGregor.

The adoption clinic in a virtual Style City features children called Pax, Maddox and Zahara, after the actress Angelina Jolie's children.

They have also been given the same ages and nationalities as Jolie's, with Maddox, three, said to be Cambodian and a fan of eating cockroaches.

Similarly up for grabs are Vietnamese noodle-lover Pax, five, and Ethiopian Zahara, four, whose favourite food is said to be guinea pig.

The adoption centre also offers a David Banda, four, and Mercy, five, of Malawi, apparently modelled on Madonna's adopted children.

There is also a Mongolian girl named Jamiyan, based on actor Ewan McGregor's four-year-old daughter, who is said to enjoy eating rats.

Once they have paid the adoption fees, players style their new children in over-the-top designer gear and can then try and sell image rights for them to celebrity magazines.

They are challenged to outdo rival "minxes" by amassing ever more adoptive children to make their family more fashionable.

The controversial game by north London firm Blighty Arts also sees players take their minxes binge drinking and clubbing as they try to pull men.

For minxes that succeed in one night stands, there are virtual condoms and morning after pills.

Gamers get to design their own saucy lingerie brands and handbag ranges as they compete to create the most stylish minx.

There is no age restriction on the game and when players run out of virtual cash, they top up their accounts by sending text messages costing £1.50 each or use PayPal.

My Minx was launched shortly before Christmas and has already attracted 20,000 members as young as seven.

But parents' groups are horrified to see the game taking off and have accused the games creators of exploiting children for profit.

Andy Hibberd, spokesman for parents' rights group Parentkind, said: "There are more than enough pressures on children to grow up already. We don't need any more.

"Their parents will not have any idea that they are playing this game and the children will fail to appreciate its irony.

"Having them getting virtual condoms or morning after pills will not make them any less promiscuous.

"As regards child adoption, this game encourages them to think that they don't need to worry about morals or ethics. It is all just a bit of fun.

"It is sending out all the wrong messages and the only reason its creators have made it is to make money."

However, the game's creator, Blighty Arts director Christopher Evans, has insisted it is harmless, tongue-in-cheek entertainment.

Mr Evans, 30, said: "It is nonsense to suggest our game is a bad influence on young children.

"We try to protect children too much from the real world for too long in this day and age. They cannot be wrapped up in cotton wool.

"We should let them grow up making their own decisions about the games they play.

"The game teaches children about the world while poking fun at celebrity adoptions.

"Every time they turn on the TV they will see the likes of Madonna adopting African children anyway.

"The contraceptives and morning after pills are only one part of the game and we are not encouraging young girls to take them, just reflecting real life."

Brad Pitt and Angelina JolieReported to Be Breaking Up

Rumors are swirling that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have hired a divorce attorney to help them divide custody of their children and significant assets as they part ways.

Most reports are citing a Sunday story by British tabloid News of the World, which claims that the couple has broken up and split custody of their six children and, perhaps, $205 million in assets.

It would bring an end to one of Hollywood's most watched, most passionate, most electrified courtships.

A source told the tabloid that the pair has already signed an agreement to split, with Jolie likely to live with the children full-time.

Three of the couple's children -- Maddox, 8, Pax, 6, and Zahara, 5 -- are adopted, while Shiloh, 3, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 17 months, are their natural children.

The couple had not been seen in public together in recent weeks, with the tabloid reporting they first consulted a high-power, Beverly Hills divorce attorney about the split in December.

But People magazine says sources "close to the family" claim the couple hasn't signed any deal and that the reports of a split are "totally false."

Before his hooking up with Angelina, Pitt, 44, was married to actress Jennifer Aniston, 40. They split in 2005 after four-and-a-half years of marriage.

Pitt was photographed just months later in public with Jolie, whom he had recently filmed "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" with, fueling speculation that a relationship with Jolie contributed to his split from Aniston.

Pitt and Jolie have never married.

Jolie, 34, has been married twice before, to actor Jonny Lee Miller in 1996 for 18 months, and then to actor Billy Bob Thornton for three years in 2000.
