Angelina Jolie's father Jon Voight Brags About His Grandchildren: "They're All Smart"

Jon Voight continues to relish his role as grandpa to the children of his daughter, Angelina Jolie, and her partner, Brad Pitt.

"Shiloh, oh boy, she's a smart one, but she's four years old, you can never tell what she does, her face lights up," the Coming Home Best Actor Oscar winner, 71, told reporters at FOX's Fall Eco-Casino Party at L.A.'s Boa Restaurant this week.

"They're all smart," says Voight. "Z's smart, they're all smart I'll tell you. Maddox, Pax, Z … I gotta get all their names, because you can't cheat and I'm not going to. Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne, they're all very smart kids, beautiful too."

As for keeping in touch with his six grandchildren via Skype, as Voight vowed to do, "I'm trying!" he says, "Maddox says 'okay' – he writes me back 'okay' and then I can't get it, but I've been away for my computer so I couldn't get back to him."

Rather than become frustrated with his lack of computer skills in communicating with Maddox, Voight says he's probably "going to see him" soon, and "what's better than that?"

Voight is costarring in FOX's new drama Lone Star, in which he plays the patriarch of a Texas oil family, a role that won approval from Jolie – whom he says, "knows what I like" and is "very astute."

Does this mean his grandchildren might be tuning in, too? "I don't think they'll be that interested in it, you know," he says. "But they might be."
