Brad Pitt and Reliance Big pact for sci-fi film “Dark Void”

nd Brad Pitt’s production company Plan B have entered into a pact with leading video gaming firm Capcom to make the sci-fi action game “Drak Void” into a motion picture.

“The theatrical version of the ‘Dark Void’ game is being developed as a sci-fi action franchise and potential starring vehicle for Pitt,” Anil Ambani Group’s Reliance Big said in a statement Saturday.

Capcom, which is a worldwide developer and publisher of video games, will be releasing “Dark Void” on various platforms, including the Xbox 360 of Microsoft and Playstation, across North America and Europe in January.

“Dark Void” is an adrenaline-fuelled blend of aerial and ground-pounding combat that centres on the character Will — a pilot who crash-lands in the Bermuda Triangle after a routine mission.

Will wakes up to find himself inside “The Void”, an alternate world resembling a primitive earth where aliens with superior technology are planning to take over the civilization.

Together with a faction of humans who have disappeared into this world, Will takes on the alien race using their own advanced technology, including a high-powered jet pack to defeat them and keep order in the civilized world.

“We are delighted that our creative partnership with Plan B has led to this agreement to develop the ‘Dark Void’ motion picture along with Capcom. We also look forward to future projects from them,” said Reliance Big chairman Amit Khanna.

According to Germaine Gioia, senior vice president for licensing with Capcom, “Dark Void” was developed as a game keeping a wide-screen in mind with a world full of adventure in cinematic scope and scale.

“Plan B recognized the potential of our newest property and are as excited about bringing Dark Void to life in cinemas as Capcom is to bring the interactive experience to home theatres.”
