
Brad Pitt proved he is still A-list box office gold, leading his newest flick, Inglourious Basterds, to a dominating $37.6 million domestic debut this past weekend.
The graphic film, directed by the quirky Quentin Tarantino, tacked on another $27.5 million worldwide, bringing its total intake to a rock-solid $65.1 million opening.
Rounding out the top three was the late summer sleeper District 9, earning $18.9 million, while G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra took third with $12.5 million.
