Hollywood actor Brad Pitt Supports Organ Donation

While Angelina Jolie is busy being Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, life-partner, Brad Pitt, is encouraging people to put their body parts on the line with organ donation.

Pitt is one of many celebs who support organ donation.

Not ready to become an organ donor? Try donating blood, which is something you can do right now.

Angelina Jolie's dark past comes back to haunt her as kinky S&M pictures emerge

She is on a promotional blitz for her new film Salt, but today Angelina Jolie received some unwelcome media exposure.

Never-before-seen pictures of the actress in a series of kinky S&M poses have been published in an American tabloid magazine.

Topless save for crosses of black tape across her breasts, she is seen posing provocatively with what looks like a leash around her neck.

In a separate frame, she has black tape strapped across her mouth and in yet another she wears a blindfold..

A black and white shot taken from behind shows her on a bed wearing just a G-string and cowboy hat.

The risqué pictures, said to be from 1999, were taken from an explosive unauthorised biography by Andrew Morton that is due for release next month.

The book makes a host of outrageous claims about the actress' past and her currently relationship with Brad Pitt.

Of course, Jolie, 35, is no stranger to scandal.

She famously French-kissed her brother James Haven at the Oscars in 2000 and once sealed her love for former husband Billy Bob Thornton with a vial of blood.

She has also admitted to lesbian liaisons, self-harming and cutting a lover in the throes of passion.

Angelina Jolie: Brad Pitt "Always Makes Me Feel Sexy and Desirable"

A day after she flashed a lot of leg in a thigh-high Versace slit dress, Angelina Jolie covered up in a black spaghetti strap dress at a Salt press conference Wednesday in Seoul, South Korea.

"I think you feel sexy if you live an honest and bold life," she told reporters, according to the Korea Herald. "Maybe living life the way I've always lived it had something to do with that, but really, what makes me feel sexy is Brad. He always makes me feel sexy and desirable."

Jolie, 35, also praised Pitt, 46, for his parenting skills.

He's the reasons she's able to balance work and family life so well, she noted.

"I'm fortunate enough to work just a few months out of the year, and I have the luxury of having Brad help out as well," she said. "I have so much respect for everyday parents. For me and the best thing to do for myself is to combine my work and my children as much as possible."

She added that her kids are even accompanying her while she tours the world to promote Salt.

"My children are here [in Korea] enjoying their time, enjoying their Korean breakfast, watching baseball over their hotel windows, and playing in the swimming pool," she said.

During the press conference, Jolie also suggested there could be a Salt sequel.

"We're leaving it up to the fans," she said. "If the people want another one, certainly we'll give it to them."

The Oscar-winning actress famously replaced Tom Cruise in the movie about a CIA officer falsely accused of being a Russian agent.

Said Jolie, "I would love to revisit the role because we think there’s a lot more to the story. But we don't know where we'll go yet. We've talked about more exotic locations for one."

Angelina Jolie needed 25 staff to run her household Chateau Miraval in France

Angelina Jolie needed more than 25 staff, it has been claimed.
The 'Salt' actress - who raises six children with partner Brad Pitt - reportedly needed a huge entourage to help out at Chateau Miraval, the French property she rented in 2008, including medical professionals, security guards and nannies.
Author Andrew Morton writes in his new book 'Angelina: An Unauthorized Biography': "The house was filled with nannies from Vietnam, the Congo, and the US; four nurses, a doctor on permanent call; two personal assistants; a cook; a maid; two cleaners; a busboy; four bodyguards, and six French former army guards patrolling the grounds."

Although the writer alleges Angelina barely saw her mother Marcheline Bertrand in her very early years, he believes the brunette beauty developed most of her parenting techniques from the way she was brought up.

He explains: "Marcheline separated herself from that child (Angelina) because she looked a lot like her husband Jon Voight.
"Angie based her child-rearing methods on what she could remember - or what she told herself - about her mother's skills.

"Like Marcheline, when the children behaved themselves, she gave them sticker stars that they could later exchange for treats."

Angelina's mother and father, actor Jon Voight, split up in 1976 and the actress and her brother were then raised by Marcheline.

Angelina Jolie Stuns in Cleavage-Baring Red-Hot Dress at Moscow Salt Premiere

Angelina Jolie touched down in windy Moscow, Russia on Sunday for the premiere of Salt -- and her super sexy dress matched the red carpet.

The 35-year-old star wowed the crowd in a dramatic, cleavage-bearing Atelier Versace red halter neck chiffon gown with draped train and draped bust. For last week's L.A. premiere of the film, Jolie favored a black, sequined mini-dress by Armani. In Salt, the mom of six plays a CIA agent falsely accused of being a Russian spy.

The well-reviewed action flick had a strong first weekend in the U.S., nabbing an estimated $36.5 million in box office receipts. But the number one movie of the weekend was Leonardo DiCaprio's Inception, which garnered $43.5 million in its second weekend out.

Angelina Jolie's accident on the set during Salt movie shooting

Angelina Jolie was left with a real headache during the filming of Salt.

The Changeling star suffered a bloodied injury following an accident on the set of the spy thriller, and had to go to hospital to have it looked at.

Director Phillip Noyce revealed to E! Online: "She took a dive with all the velocity that she needed to, but there was a TV monitor in her way and she collided with it and it hit her between her eyes. That's a moment when you don't know what to do or think until you get the report from the hospital. You know, you hit yourself right there and it looks like nothing but it could be something much worse."

The filmmaker wasn't sure if she had to be stitched up.

"I'm not sure if she got stitches. When she came back, the make-up artist had done such a good job covering it up," he added.

Angelina previously admitted her injury interrupted shooting.

She told US talk show Nightline: "I returned the next day with this big bandage on my head, they had to paint it (the bandage) out. I tried really hard to do my fight scenes and a few minutes in, they were like, 'You're really not fighting very well,' so they sent me home."

Phillip also said Angelina and partner Brad Pitt's six children visited the set often, but added: "But she never let the outside get in the way of the work. She's totally focused."

Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie settle lawsuit over breakup story

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie -- who still aren't breaking up -- on Thursday won their privacy claim against News of the World, the British tabloid that in January reported they'd visited a divorce attorney and negotiated an agreement to split.

Remember that story? The one the Ministry of Gossip called foul on from the beginning, slapping on an appropriately foul headline to match?

The News of the World, owned by Rupert Murdoch's News Corp., has agreed to publish an apology, as well as pay an undisclosed sum to cover the couple's costs and damages, the BBC reports. The money will be donated to the Jolie-Pitt Foundation, the actors' charity.

The paper argued it had acted in good faith, but the court didn't buy it; the divorce attorney cited in the story said he'd never met the two.

Pitt and Jolie, who are not married, were in Los Angeles this week for the premiere of Jolie's spy thriller "Salt," and she's slated to appear at Comic-Con in San Diego.

How Jon Voight Stays Close to Angelina Jolie and His Grandkids

Jon Voight was in proud-papa mode Monday at daughter Angelina Jolie's Salt premiere in Hollywood.

Soon, though, the Oscar-winning actor, 71, will be shipping out to Texas for the new TV show Lonestar, but he says the distance won't put a damper on the relationship he's building with his daughter and grandkids.

"It's hard for me to be away from my grandkids, yes, but I'll stay in touch with them," Voight told PEOPLE at a screening of show's pilot episode at the Paley Center in Los Angeles. "Thank god we have this technology, and you know, we use all of it."

Specifically, Voight means Skype – and he plans to use it to chat with Jolie, Brad Pitt and their kids. "We're just setting it up now," the actor says. "Anyway, I love being in touch with the family."

Watching Jolie
As for Jolie, with whom he had a famously fraught relationship, watching her in action in Salt was thrilling for Voight, who thought she elevated the action flick into something more gripping.

"Her work is terrific," he says. "And Angie, for some reason, has this emotional capacity to make every piece of this really authentic, 'cause it's really unreal stuff that they're doing. But that's the genre and she gives … another energy to it."

"She's very, very good," he says. "It's not like a novelty. She's really doing it."

One thing he admires about his daughter on screen: her versatility. "She's a really talented person with a very wide range and lots of interests," Voight says.

"It's interesting to talk to her about why she made the decision to this movie … She was nursing two babies at the time that she decided to do this role."

Brad Pitt spotted filming Moneyball (photos)

Working hard on his new project, Brad Pitt was spotted on the set of “Moneyball” in Los Angeles yesterday afternoon (July 20).

The “Fight Club” stud looked intense as he filmed scenes, playing the part of Billy Beane, the Oakland A’s general manager.

And it looks like Brad got a little roughed up during his time on the set, as he was wearing a band-aid on his left arm.

Brad was also spotted escorting his lovely partner/babymama Angelina Jolie to the Hollywood premiere of her new film “Salt.”

Jon Voight Gushes About Daughter Angelina Jolie: 'That's My Girl!'

After many years estranged, it appears as though the father/daughter relationship between Jon Voight and Angelina Jolie is becoming stronger by the day. The veteran Hollywood actor/director was one of the first to arrive on the red carpet for the Hollywood premiere of Jolie’s new action blockbuster “Salt” on Monday night – and was the picture of a doting dad.

“Angelina is like a circus performer in some way, she enjoys (doing her own stunts.) She’s athletic and she enjoys expressing her athleticism,” Voight told us with a big smile. “Sometimes I worry that it’s not wise (doing her own stunts) but she has her stunt girls that are very good, so I’m hoping that she doesn’t compete with them.”

At one point Voight turned around to examine the electrifying movie poster, which featured only Jolie’s name and a close-up of her steely, yet sexy glare.

“That’s my girl,” he said proudly.

SLIDESHOW: The Lovely and Talented Angelina Jolie

In addition to her dad, Jolie brought partner Brad Pitt and their children to the star-studded premiere (Pitt skipped the press line, claiming that it was his “night off.”) But while Jolie is proud of her work in the action flick, she isn't quite ready to let her young kids watch the violent film.

“I can’t show my kids movies where people are trying to kill me. They saw some of the clips and were a little disturbed by it. There was one part where somebody was tying my feet up and they got upset and didn’t like it,” Jolie explained. “But when they're older I think my kids are going to love this.  Mad (Maddox, her 8-year-old son) really wants to see it but he's just not ready yet.  He's not old enough yet.”

And while the thrill-seeking, Oscar-winning actress was completely comfortable hanging from 11-story buildings and jumping from one moving truck to the next while filming “Salt,” which centers around the quest to capture a CIA agent suspected of being a Russian spy, there is one part of life that ignites her inner fear.

“There is nothing I‘m afraid to do on camera, I'm only afraid of something happening to people I love,” Jolie said simply.

And despite being heralded as one of the sexiest women in the world, there was actually a day on-set in which the male crew members didn’t want to be by her side. Why? She was dressed (very convincingly, mind you) as a man.

“It was odd, because then you actually start to really think about ‘what is my internal man?’ You get really particular about how he does his hair, or what kind of an outfit he would wear, it is bizarre,” Jolie said of the experience. “When I dressed up in him and walked on set for the first time, the crew was so uncomfortable.  So uncomfortable.  The guys didn't want to stand near me, they just kept staring at me (as if to say) ‘stay away from me.’”

But while she may be adept at playing a man, rumor has it that Jolie is in competition with Catherine Zeta-Jones to play feminine Hollywood icon Elizabeth Taylor in an upcoming biopic of the legend’s life. Only problem? It was news to Jolie.

“I have never heard that before,” she added. “I don’t think anybody that can be better than Elizabeth Taylor, at being Elizabeth Taylor."

Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt at Salt Premiere joined by father Jon Voight and brother James Haven (photos)

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt added more than a dash of star power to Monday night's Los Angeles premiere of Jolie's new spy thriller, Salt.

Half of Hollywood Boulevard was shut down, and hundreds of fans erupted in pandemonium as the couple arrived at Grauman's Chinese Theatre – Jolie in an Emporio Armani dress and Ferragamo shoes – and greeted fans before heading inside for the screening.

At the afterparty, the couple held court in a special area, flanked by a phalanx of security, in the middle of Hollywood & Highland's Grand Ballroom. One guest of honor was Jolie's father, Oscar winner Jon Voight, 71, who looked thrilled as Pitt chatted affectionately with him throughout the evening and he shared a hug with his daughter.

The inner circle got a boost of energy when they were joined by Quinton Aaron, 25, the actor who played Michael, the son of Sandra Bullock's character, in The Blind Side. Both Jolie, 35, and Pitt, 46, spent time enthusiastically chatting with him, and Aaron became the life of the afterparty, taking dozens of photos with fans who approached him.

A few feet away from the Jolie-Pitts was another special area set up for costar Liev Schreiber and his partner, Naomi Watts. Schreiber, 42, who has two small boys with Watts, told PEOPLE that he bonded with Jolie over parenting during the shoot.

"I think we're both in that place with our kids where they're really amazing, right around 3 years old, when all the language starts to come out of them," Schreiber said. "It's a very exciting period in someone's life, both the child's and the parent's, and it was fun to bond over that."

Jolie and Pitt left at around 11 p.m. after another big day in their hectic lives.

"What's amazing about [Jolie] is the amount of things going on in her life and how calm she is in the middle of them," producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura told PEOPLE. "She's an unbelievably committed mom, and she's an unbelievably committed actress, and on human rights ... it's a whirlwind going on around her, and in the middle of it she's as calm as can be."

Angelina Jolie talks about new movie CIA action thriller 'Salt'

She's not very big, no bulging biceps, and she does not have a demonic look in her eyes as some on Team Jennifer might want you to believe.

Sitting with Jolie in a suite at the Georgetown Ritz-Carlton, in Washington, D.C., the only thing that would lead you to think that you were not interviewing an up-and-coming businesswoman or a Ferragamo-clad suburban mom would be the no-nonsense muscle standing by the door.

Jolie was in Washington two weekends ago to promote her new action thriller, "Salt" (opening Friday), and it's a testament to how much the film means to her and Sony Pictures (possible franchise?) that the normally press-shy actress did roundtable interviews (no blood oath necessary) and select one-on-ones. She should talk more often - far from being some moody weirdo, Jolie was affable and engaged, funny and smart.

While reporters were asked to keep personal questions to a minimum (translation: Don't ask about her life partner, actor Brad Pitt , their kids or Pitt's ex-wife Jennifer Aniston or we'll toss you into the Potomac), Jolie was happy to volunteer that she's on mommy duty "because Brad is working" and that the previous night she'd stayed back at the hotel playing with Play-Doh with two of her girls. Regarding all the nonsense written about her, she shrugged.

"I pay no attention to it," she said. "I go straight to news when I'm online and don't go to the grocery store."

As for "Salt," Jolie says that it's Hollywood's first attempt to place a female action hero in a real-world setting - less Lara Croft, more Jason Bourne.

Veteran producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura ("Transformers") said of the actress that "nobody else has the thing that she has. I can't think of anyone else who could make this [movie] on this scale."

Jolie plays CIA agent Evelyn Salt, who's accused of being a Russian mole, and the movie's twisty plot - is she or isn't she? - takes her on a series of chases and through a variety of teeth-rattling fight scenes that are a testament to her charisma, conditioning and the stunt coordination of Simon Crane, who's been working with Jolie for a decade.

"He's really a genius," she said of Crane, stressing how much time he put into devising fight scenes that would make her look able to beat up men 100 pounds heavier.

"She's faster, quicker, she can jump on things," Jolie said. "Everything had to be possible."

It could be crazy, she added with a smile, "but not impossible."

Two other facets of the film that Jolie felt strongly about were that it had to be realistic (within its Hollywood summer- popcorn-movie context) and, although the script had originally been written for Tom Cruise, she didn't want it turned into "a girl movie."

Although Jolie's big, pouty lips and intense eyes could probably broker Mideast peace, Salt wouldn't use sex appeal to disarm men, a la Mata Hari. "She's better than that," Jolie said.

In fact, she added, they made the script darker and meaner.

Another change was that Salt's child, who was a part of the movie when the spy was a man, was taken out when Salt became a woman.

"I just thought that a woman in that position would not have a child," she said. "The child would cling and the audience would become fixated on her going back for the child."

Jolie said that what intrigued her about Salt was the duplicity of her secret agent's character. "I liked that she was neither a good guy or a bad guy," she said.

She also liked learning about real-life spies - she does travel to enough global hot spots to be one. Jolie worked closely with former CIA agent Melissa Mahle, who served as a consultant on the film, and the actress said, "I spent a lot of time with people of Russia House. The thing I found most interesting was how isolated and lonely they felt about not being able to talk about their life and work with their families."

As for shooting on location in the nation's capital, Jolie said that it was exhilarating. "You feel the power of things that get done," she said, "and the frustration of things that don't get done."

"Salt" director Phillip Noyce ("Dead Calm," "Patriot Games," "A Clear and Present Danger") worked with Jolie 10 years ago on "The Bone Collector" and said that her transformation has been incredible.

"Then she was an accomplished actress but was still finding herself," he said. "She was a wallflower when she came to my house for a barbecue. Now she has things to teach me, especially in the area of stunts.

"And success has given her even more fearlessness."

Jolie's co-star Liev Schreiber ("The Manchurian Candidate"), however, did have a little fear.

"I met her years ago at Sundance," Schreiber said. "But I get nervous around famous people and beautiful women, so this was like a double whammy for me."

Schreiber said that the pair bonded over kids (Schreiber has two sons under age 3), teething and timeouts, and all the sexual tension went out of the room.

Schreiber was also able to help Jolie in a scene in which she disguises herself as a male military officer. Both he and co-star Chiwetel Ejiofor have cross-dressed in movies.

"Every lead in this movie has cross-dressed," Jolie said, laughing.

The actress thought that she was quite suave as a man but said that the cast couldn't talk with her when she put on her man-wig and uniform.

It was on that day of shooting that Brad Pitt decided to visit the set. Jolie told him that she was going to look like a man but she said that Pitt told her, "It won't bother me, it's you."

"Brad came in and I was half-woman, half man," she said, "and he was really creeped out."

So, does Jolie see herself kicking butt in 20 to 30 years when she's the age of male action stars Bruce Willis , Sylvester Stallone and Harrison Ford?

"No," she said, laughing, "I'll be playing with the grandkids."

When it's her next turn to work, Jolie is fascinated about the possibility of playing Cleopatra, but there isn't a script yet.

No hurries. The once-wild child has grown up, she's more grounded and more comfortable in her own skin - a mother first.

"I've had such a wonderful career," she said, "I don't need to make another movie."

Angelina Jolie's partner Brad Pitt almost to cameo in Salt movie

The Salt star's low-key swing through the nation's capital over the weekend to do a handful of interviews for the new spy thriller avoided the crush and fervor of paparazzi and lookee-loos that blustered around the film's shoot here last year.

Chase scenes for the movie, which opens July 23, were filmed with barricades holding hundreds of fans and photographers at bay just out of camera view. Jolie plays the title character, CIA operative Evelyn Salt, who goes on the run after accusations that she is a Russian sleeper agent.

"Salt and I were doing the same thing," she jokes. "Just trying to keep our heads down and get outta there."

In an interview Saturday, she also clarified recent remarks that she planned to give up acting someday. Jolie, 35, said she has no immediate plans to retire.

"I like to be very busy. I'm kind of energized. I don't sit down well," she says. "In the years to come, it's not that I'm retiring. There'll just be less films at some point.

"And I'd love to do other things. I'd love to live in Africa for six months and fly planes. I'd love to see what else there is to do. And artistically, I'm sure there are other things to do."

Salt is her first film since 2008's Changeling and the birth of her twins, Knox and Vivienne, who turn 2 today. Being a mom of six with Brad Pitt made getting back to gunslinging and fistfighting — often clinging to the side of a building or leaping from a balcony toward a stone floor — harder than she expected.

"I had a moment my first day, because I hadn't worked for a year and a half and I'd been home and had babies," says the actress, who is far more soft-spoken and warm than her tough screen alter egos. "I did my first day back and I thought, 'What am I doing? I'm somebody's mother!' "

The little ones aren't shocked to see her play-acting on such grand scales, she says. "I met Brad doing stunts together (on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith), so we're kind of that family," she says. "It's almost expected for Mom to go out and do something like that."

Part of the reason for her relatively quiet visit was keeping the strike team small. The whole family didn't join her — only her daughters Zahara, 5, and Shiloh, 4, and they stayed out of sight.

Jolie and Pitt try to film movies at separate times, so one of them is home with the children. When traveling, it's a chance for special attention, she says. "For example, (the four older children) all came with me to Cancun, and then I came back and spent a lot of time with the babies, because they couldn't come. Then the girls came to D.C. as a girls' trip. And the boys (Pax, 6, and Maddox, 8) are having special boy-time with Dad" back in Los Angeles.

That means the couple aren't likely to co-star again, though she wanted Pitt to do a cameo in Salt. Even though it would have been a short scene, the stunt work would have required too much time commitment, so he ended up with babysitting duties.

"He was almost going to be the motorcycle guy that I knocked down, and then he'd call me a bad name," she says, laughing. "But he was with the kids that day, and we couldn't work it out."

Angelina Jolie talks her biggest role in Life of being a Mother and about her movie Salt

You said in an article that you are planning to give up acting to spend more time with the kids.
I plan to cut back on acting at some point in my life as I want to do other things.
I love acting but I will make fewer films in future. You took the role right after giving birth to Vivienne and Knox.

Was it tough to pull yourself away from a mother’s role and into an action one?
Those who have just had children will understand that it’s nice to have an excuse to get out of bed and back in action, what with pregnancy and all. I was doing an action scene on a freeway where my character was being chased and I found myself thinking: “I don’t belong here. I’m somebody’s mom. They got the wrong person”.
Just two weeks earlier I was at home feeding the babies.

Did they get to join you on the set?
I was lucky to work five days a week. I spent time with them during breakfast and dinner. They also joined me for lunch. When I work, they spend more time with their father. Brad is such a great dad. However, I am home with them most of the time.
I only work between eight and 14 weeks a year.

Are they excited about what mommy is doing?
They see me do a cartwheel and think that’s extraordinary! I can’t be more cool — to them I am just mommy. When they’re on set and see me doing stunts, they understand how complicated the film-making process is.

Did you allow stunt co-coordinator Simon Crane (whom Jolie has worked with in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and Mr & Mrs Smith) to push you around?
I call him Dr Crane. He was always saying “suffer...be ready to suffer”.
He knows I love heights so there were lots of action sequences involving heights.
He also kept pushing me where the fights scenes were concerned.

Where does your fearlessness come from? Were you always the kid who jumped off anything?
I was and now I have those fearless kids — Pax and Shiloh.

How do you find action adventure in real life?
I fly planes, ride bikes with Brad and travel to uncharted territories. But the greatest adventure of all is having children. Our kids are very much a part of everything we do.

Did you always have strong role models in your life?
I had a very strong mother. (Jolie’s mother was the late actress Marcheline Bertrand who died in 2007). She always called herself Marshmallow. She was the softest person in the world and could never yell at me without laughing. She was the kindest and most loving person I had ever known in my life and her faith and integrity were so strong they were unbreakable. I now live with three very strong women — my daughters Zahara, Shiloh and Vivienne.

What was it like losing your mother?
It will never heal. Somebody said to me recently ‘you will never get over it and you will never want to.’

The role of Salt was originally written for a male actor. Does this mean gender roles don’t apply in Hollywood anymore?
It will always matter. I’ve played lots of strong female characters but they were often set in some kind of fantasy world so my experience may differ from other actresses.

Which historical figure would you want to play?
I think it’s already been made known — Cleopatra. She was misunderstood and her life story was written wrongly. I always thought her life was very glamorous.
Then I read her story and learnt a different side to her — that she was a mother, leader and an intellect who spoke five languages! Her upbringing also reflected her relationship with Rome — all that is much more interesting than what she was summed up to be.

Would you play it differently than the version portrayed by Elizabeth Taylor?
Yes, but I could never be as lovely as she was. We are trying to uncover the truth about her as a leader and not just a sex symbol which she really wasn’t — she didn’t have many lovers, may be only two and they’re men she had children with.

How much creative control did you have over your character (rumour has it that Tom Cruise was originally approached to play the part)?
We all worked together — the writers and actors. Everybody had an opinion. I had my own views about the character but I didn’t decide on anything that other people didn’t agree. The last time you worked with Noyce was 11 years ago.

Do you think the girl in The Bone Collector knew what she was doing compared to the one in Salt?
I don’t know. I have to watch that movie again and I will tell you (laughs). I only play characters I can identify with. Maybe you can compare the two characters and see a similarity. In The Bone Collector, I play a rookie cop who’s way out of her depth in solving murder cases. In Salt, I play a tough agent who knows who she is and what she is doing.

How difficult is it to internalise deep characters and then switch back to being a mommy?
I am not one of those actors who has to walk around in character all the time. If the subject matter is dark, I tend to giggle a lot — it’s like an emotional release.

You mentioned that shooting the interrogation scene with Polish actor Daniel Olbrychski (as the defected Russian spy Vassily Orlov) was tough because he stayed in character even when the camera stopped rolling.
After a heavy scene like that, most of us just got up and walked away. I like to switch off and be myself again. But for that particular scene, I had to stay in character even during breaks. We talked about the scene and our characters and Daniel was just beautifully “heavy” and “deep”. To some extent I think the experience helped develop my character. It’s nice to stay in character sometimes, but I can’t do it every time.

In an interview, you mentioned that Shiloh is trying to find her identity, just like you did when you were growing up.How would you prevent your daughter from experiencing the dark period you went through?
Most people find their teenage years and early adulthood difficult because they don’t know where they fit in and how useful they can be to the world. They are plagued with questions and they feel that the world doesn’t given them much answers.
I adapted when I got older and started to travel. I visited places where people were suffering and learnt so much from the experiences. Most importantly, I felt ashamed of being sad because I was actually very fortunate. The more I travel, the more excited I am about life and its possibilities. I hope to raise my children in such a way so that they are exposed to many of life’s experiences.

Angelina Jolie Defends Daughter Shiloh's Tomboy Style and Finds it Fascinating

Angelina Jolie talks about her 4-year-old daughter Shiloh's tomboy look, saying she finds her daughter "fascinating."

"Children should be allowed to express themselves in whatever way they wish without anybody judging them because it is an important part of their growth," the 'Salt' actress tells Reuters. "Society always has something to learn when it comes to the way we judge each other, label each other. We have far to go."

Jolie says of Shiloh, "I think she is fascinating, the choices she is making. And I would never be the kind of parent to force somebody to be something they are not. I think that is just bad parenting."

The actress recently revealed that she got a tattoo for her longtime love Brad Pitt. When asked by MTV News for the story behind her new ink, Angelina replied with a smile, "Um, it's for Brad." She didn't divulge what the tattoo says.

Angelina Jolie describes the pandemonium of the Jolie-Pitts at breakfast, Brad Pitt as her one true love and a lot more

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have never made marriage a priority. But that could change with a request from a few special people.

"I think it would be hard to say no to the kids," Jolie, 35, said Monday morning on ABC's Good Morning America in an excerpt of an interview airing Monday night on Nightline.

But so far, it hasn't been an issue, as none of their six children seem to think it's a priority, either. "They're not asking," Jolie says. "They are very aware that nothing's missing."

Jolie, who stars in the new spy thriller Salt, touches on other aspects of her family in the interview, including whether it will get any larger. She and Pitt, 46, are torn about the issue – drawn to the idea of it, yet dreading how it would stretch them even thinner.

"We always have this thing, first thing in the morning, where we're really, really tired, and we look at each other and we wonder, Are we ever going to get sleep?" the actress says. "And yet we still love the idea of having more children."

Breakfast Pandemonium
Offering a glimpse into their daily routine, Jolie says she's better at disciplining the girls, while Pitt is better at disciplining the boys. "I think girls and Daddy can just bat their eyes," she says. "And the boys, funnily enough, can kind of get me."

She also describes the pandemonium of the Jolie-Pitts at breakfast time. "We're like bartenders. We're like waiters," she says of herself and her actor-partner. "But we still, I think, are able to do it because we manage to have a great laugh. We do it together, and we find fun in it, and because of that, it doesn't matter if you don't get sleep. It's an honor to take care of them."

On the subject of love, Jolie is asked if Pitt is the love of her life – and if there is indeed one true love for anyone. "He makes me feel like there is," she replies. Asked if they'll grow old together, she doesn't hesitate. "Of course," she says. "We wouldn't have six children if we weren't absolutely sure of that."

Angelina Jolie To marry Brad Pitt and wanting more children

Angelina Jolie has revealed that she's agreed to marry long-term partner Brad Pitt…as long as their children want them to be husband and wife.

The actress, who has previously been married to Billy Bob Thornton and Johnny Lee Miller claims that any marriage plans she and Brad may have, are down to their children.

Jolie explained her views of marriage to The Sun claiming: "I think it would be hard to say 'no' to the kids. They're not asking. They are very aware nothing's missing."

The 35-year old actress, who raises adopted Maddox, eight, Pax, six, Zahara, five, and biological kids Shiloh, four, and two-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne with Brad - also added that admitted that she and Brad want an even bigger family.

Angelina stated: "We kind of joke about it because in the morning we're so tired. And we always look at each other and wonder, 'Are we ever gonna get sleep?' Yet we still love the idea of having more children."

Angliena Jolie Would 'Love To' Work With Tim Burton, Darren Aronofsky

One of the rumored parts that seems exceptionally well-suited for the sultry star is the title role in "Maleficent", a take on the "Sleeping Beauty" story told from the point of view of the slumbering princess' nemesis. Asked whether she might be involved in the film — whose director's chair may eventually be filled by "Alice in Wonderland" auteur Tim Burton — Jolie said she would definitely be interested.

"I would love to," Jolie told MTV News. "It's all new and being discussed, but I loved her when I was a little girl. She was my favorite. Tim Burton, the chance to work with him would be extraordinary."

While we were on the topic of casting, Jolie opened up about Cleopatra, whom she's been confirmed to play in a historical biopic. Jolie said a portrayal of the iconic Egyptian queen is long overdue, and she's onboard as long as the circumstances are right.

"I think if we can get the story right, and do the real story," she said of a possible script. "I think there's a lot about her that's never been covered yet. So if we can do something original, we will."

Jolie's name has also been attached to two other films: "Serena," an adaptation of the Ron Rash novel to be directed by "The Wrestler" helmer Darren Aronofsky, and a cinematic portrayal of Kay Scarpetta, the protagonist in Patricia Cornwell's best-selling book series. The actress didn't seem to have much information about either feature, but prospects for "Serena" seemed to be a little more concrete.

"We've talked about it, and I would love to work with Darren one day," Jolie said, adding that the project itself was perhaps less important than her potential collaborator. "So if it's not that, it will be something else. But I think he's one of my favorites."

Scarpetta, on the other hand, seems further down the road. "I think they're writing a script," Jolie said. "It's in development," she laughed, acknowledging she was short on news.

"It's all very in development."

Angelina Jolie on Brad Pitt: “I’m Bad at Hiding Secrets”

Getting ready for the release of her latest flick Salt, Angelina Jolie dishes on her off-screen relationship with Brad Pitt and admits that honesty is the best policy for any relationship.

“I actually think it’s important to be completely honest, however difficult that may be. I’m bad at hiding secrets anyway,” Angelina told MTV in Washington D.C of Brad, with whom she shares six children.

Although being honest is important to the superstar, Angelina plays a wife with many secrets in her new action film and jokes of Brad, “Maybe he’ll question me after he sees it!”

Since Brad was with his girlfriend on the set of Salt often, she is sure that he’ll understand her sneaky role was purely for the movie and enjoy the film.

“He was there for the shooting and he would come to set and he’d seen some of the stunt sequences and stuff. He thinks it looks cool and all of that, but he hasn’t seen the whole thing. He’ll see it at the premiere.”

But, there is one secret that Angelina is good at keeping: The 35-year-old was mum about her new inner thigh tattoo.

“Um, it’s for Brad,” was all the Tourist star would reveal about her latest inking.

Salt, also starring Liev Schreiber, will be released on July 23.

Angelina Jolie: Brad Pitt accepts 'all my flaws and all my oddities'

Now that Angelina Jolie has shed her wild-child image, the actress is loving her new life as a homebody.

"We're very homebound," Jolie says of her relationship with partner Brad Pitt in the July 11 issue of Parade magazine. "We're very much Mommy and Daddy in our pajamas."

"There's never a period when Brad and I are pulled apart," she continues. "We are not separated for more than three days, ever. We stay really connected."

But the 35-year-old actress admits that she and Pitt have to work at finding "that special time" together.

"He takes the kids to school; he visits me on set with the kids. I'm home for dinner, or I'm there for breakfast ... We plan," she says. "Brad and I take time off between films to travel, have big experiences, do things together. That's how we work it out."

Although Jolie says she is "terrible" at trying to define love, she knows she has found it with Pitt and her children.

"It means wanting the best for the people you love, putting their interests above your own, always," she says. "Love does that. Love is what you live for."

"Brad knows me completely, exactly as I am, every part of me. He loves me. The kids love me," she adds. "They know all my flaws and all my oddities. And they accept them. And so I can feel complete."

Something Jolie feels complete without: her kids growing up in the spotlight.

"We do everything we can to keep our kids away from it," she says. "We travel to places where the kids aren't aware of that kind of thing. We try to give them a full life where they don't have to come face to face with that world. With the paparazzi present, we're careful when we leave the house. Other than that ... We don't stand in the checkout line at the grocery store looking at the magazines. Our friends don't tell us about it. And our kids don't know."

Rather than a life of glitz and glamor, Jolie just hopes to give her kids a happy life. "If Brad and I are strong and happy, then our kids have happy parents, and that's the best thing we can give them."

Life may be looking good for Jolie now, but things haven't always been so rosy for the "Salt" star.

"I used to cut myself or jump out of airplanes, trying to find something new to push up against because sometimes everything else felt too easy. I was searching for something deeper, something more," she explains. "I tried everything. I always felt caged, closed in, like I was punching at things that weren't there. I always had too much energy for the room I was in."

"I went through a period when I felt my film characters were having more fun than I was," she continues. "It might partly explain why I ended up tattooed or doing certain extreme things in my life."

Angelina Jolie Defines Love " it means wanting the best for the people you love, putting their interests above your own, always."

Angelina Jolie has dismissed ongoing speculation she and Brad Pitt are heading for a break-up by cooing about her feelings for the movie star in one of her most open interviews ever.

The actress doesn't hold back in the new Parade magazine interview, telling interviewer Dotson Rader she and her partner still have a "wonderful, exciting time together," and she insists Pitt knows her inside and out.

Jolie coos, "Brad and I love being together. We enjoy it. We need it, and we always find that special time. We stay connected. We talk about it. It's very important.

"If Brad and I are strong and happy, then our kids have happy parents, and that's the best thing we can give them.

"Brad knows me completely, exactly as I am, every part of me. He loves me. The kids love me. They know all my flaws and all my oddities. And they accept them. And so I can feel complete."

And the mom-of-six admits she feels sad for those who have never experienced love - even though she's not good at it: "Love elevates. You know, Brad would joke about me having this conversation about love. Love? It's such a funny word. Brad can find certain phrases of poetry for it. I'm terrible at it. But I know it means wanting the best for the people you love, putting their interests above your own, always. Love does that. Love is what you live for."

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's Twins 2nd Birthday, Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline

Happy second birthday, Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt!

When Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's twins arrived on July 12, 2008, there were rumors swirling that both babies were girls and their chosen names were Isla Marcheline and Amelie Jane -- which, of course proved to be untrue on all counts.

Always adventurous baby namers, this time around the star couple looked back to their family roots for inspiration. Knox was the middle name of Brad's grandfather, Hal Knox Hillhouse. By using a boy's name ending in 'x,' they followed the pattern set with older sons Maddox and Pax, making it a cohesive threesome. And, as with several other of the Brangelina choices, Knox, a surname rarely heard before, was taken up by other parents, entering the Top 1,000 list last year at #706.

Leon, Knox's middle name, also has family connections, being the name of Angelina's great-great grandfather, and, with its French accent and pronunciation, also reflects the culture of the country in which the twins were born.

Vivienne, the French form of Vivian, also reflects their place of birth. Used previously by Rosie O'Donnell, it has the uplifting meaning of "life, alive." It too entered the Most Popular list for the first time last year at #532.

Her middle name, Marcheline, was the name of Angelina's beloved mother, who had died just a year before Vivienne's birth, and whose heritage was French-Canadian and Native American. An actress, her birth name was Marcia Lynne, which she transformed into her own individual version of the French Marcelline.

Other parents have used Brad and Angelina as baby naming role models before, particularly in the cases of Maddox and Shiloh. Maddox began climbing in popularity the year following his adoption and is now is at #180, meaning that more than 2,000 parents followed their lead; Shiloh also entered the list soon after the birth of the Jolie-Pitt baby girl.

"Mr and Mrs Smith" sequel for Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie has expressed interest in a sequel to Mr and Mrs Smith, the film that brought her and Brad Pitt together.

"I'd love to. We've talked about it," Jolie said in an interview with Vanity Fair.

"We'd have to figure out who's going to watch the kids, but it's really about finding the right thing, because we've looked."

But Jolie is cautious about bringing too much of her own life to any potential storyline.

"Do we have kids in the movie? We've thought about that, but it becomes personal now that we actually have kids. And if we work on it, we pull from our own life, which is funny to us, but you feel strange sharing too much."

2005's Mr and Mrs Smith told the story of a husband and wife who each discover the other is an assassin. Pitt was married to Jennifer Aniston during production, but fell for Jolie. The couple now has six children — three adopted and three biological.

Will Angelina Jolie step out of the acting spotlight?

Like any working mom, Angelina Jolie juggles her career with raising her six children with partner Brad Pitt. And she's been outspoken about wanting to leave acting behind to spend more time with her family. But Jolie remains one of Hollywood's busiest and most in-demand stars, despite her plans to quit her very lucrative gig. USA TODAY takes a look at Jolie's acting declarations.

What she said: In the August 2010 issue of Vanity Fair, Jolie discussed her plans to ditch her day job. "It's not the most important thing in my life. Acting helped me as I was growing up. It helped me learn about myself, helped me travel, helped me understand life, express myself, all those wonderful things," she said. "So I'm very, very grateful, it's a fun job. It's a luxury. Look, I'm at work today in the middle of Venice. But I don't think I'll do it much longer."

What's in the works: Super-producer Scott Rudin has optioned the rights to Cleopatra: A life and is developing the film for and with Angelina Jolie.

What she said: In November 2008, while promoting her Clint Eastwood film Changeling, Jolie told the BBC that "I'm ready to do a few things now and fade away and get ready to be a grandma one day." She added that she plans to "work for a few months" in February, then take a year off. "I won't work again probably for another year," she said. "So maybe it'll be once a year, then maybe it'll be once every three years."

What went down: She did take time off, but not a year. Since that interview, Jolie filmed two major, big-ticket projects, the action thriller Salt and the drama The Tourist. She began shooting Salt in March 2009, and The Tourist in Venice and Paris beginning in February 2010.

What she said: In March 2007, right after adopting her son Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt, she told Vietman's Ho Chi Minh City Law newspaper that she would "stay at home to help Pax adjust to his new life. I have four children and caring for them is the most important thing for me at the moment. I am very proud and happy to be their mother."

What went down: Days after the adoption was finalized, Universal Pictures announced that Jolie would be starring in the action flick Wanted. Jolie arrived in the Czech Republic in May 2007 to start work on the movie.

Angelina Jolie: Why she tries to impress her kids

Angelina Jolie wants to impress her kids.

The Oscar-winning actress – who raises three six children with partner Brad Pitt – tries to be more careful in her work out of consideration for her family but still wants them to be amazed by her stunt work. She said: “The funny thing about having children is that now I am twice as motivated to do a cool stunt because my kids will like it.

"I’m very responsible these days not to be self-destructive because of my kids, but at the same time I have all the more reason to do all the cool things possible because I want to try and make my kids proud.”

Angelina started work on her most recent action-packed movie ‘Salt’ soon after giving birth to twins Knox and Vivienne, now 22 months, and admits she was delighted to get the “push” she needed to get back in shape as the film was so physically challenging.

She explained: “I’ve always been ridiculously fearless to a fault. I feel happier if I’m living every day to the fullest.

“I’d just had two babies and the push to be physically strong was very welcome at the time.”

Angelina Jolie learns to Fly for son Maddox's Birthday present

The actress - who raises six children with partner Brad Pitt - took pilot lessons after realising how much her eldest child, Maddox, now eight, enjoyed watching planes go by.

She explained: "When Maddox was one and a half, we used to go to the airfield, have lunch and watch the planes. And it dawned on me: I could fly. So I promised him I would fly by his second birthday."

The 'Salt' star admits she loves boarding a plane alone as it is the only time she gets the solitude she craves.

She added to Vanity Fair magazine: "it's the only place I'm completely alone - up in the air, detached from everything.

"Brad loves the technical aspects. He loves the checks, loves all the maths. I'm terrible at the maths, but I love that I can go anywhere and have that freedom. He's more patient. I tend to drive it to the ground."

Angelina Jolie Shows Off Super-Skinny Bod in Little White Dress

Here comes Angie, all dressed in white.

Angelina Jolie didn't break a sweat at a Wednesday press event in Cancun, Mexico for her upcoming action film Salt.

The 35-year-old mother of six showed off her taut, super-thin frame in a white, strapless Versace dress, Ferragamo shoes, and jewelry she designed herself.

Stylist David Babaii created the star's relaxed, sleek hairstyle for the event. Babaii tells UsMagazine.com he cut "the bangs a bit shorter and [chipped] into them so they appeared even softer and swept away." See more pics of Angelina in Cancun.

The actress wasn't alone for her brief Mexican sojourn: Jolie brought older kids Maddox, 8, Pax, 6, Zahara, 4, and Shiloh, 3. Her love Brad Pitt stayed behind in L.A. with twins Vivienne and Knox, who turn 2 this month.

Brad Pitt Goes Crazy for Lego

BRAD Pitt has a new hobby — playing with his kids’ Lego!

The Hollywood heartthrob — who raises six children with partner Angelina Jolie — loves messing around with the plastic building blocks.

“Brad loves playing with the kids — especially if it’s Lego bricks,” says a source close to the actor. “He makes no secret of the fact he’s fascinated by Lego and loves to design his own buildings with the kids.

“In fact he’s often still building long after they’ve got bored and gone to bed. Angelina thinks it’s cute.”

Pitt, 46, has previously spoken of his love for architecture.

“Architecture is like play to me,” he said in August last year. “As a boy, you play with Tinker Toys, Lincoln Logs, Legos, and you get interested in how things are made, like cars and drills and all that.

“Years later you come back around to what interested you as a boy. Now, if I have something that I’m dealing with that’s causing me a lot of stress, my mind goes to architecture. I walk around the yard and start thinking about what I need to do to the house structurally.

“It’s similar to puzzles in that way, like a crossword puzzle or anything else I can put my mind into. It’s a relief for me.”

Angelina Jolie opens up about Brad Pitt, kids and retirement to Vanity Fair Angelina Jolie tells Vanity Fair she loves Brad Pitt's beard, was most like Shiloh as a child and talks about her 6 kids.

Angelina Jolie appears on the cover of Vanity Fair's August issue in which she talks about having more kids and starring with Brad Pitt in a new movie.

Angelina Jolie appears on the cover of Vanity Fair's August issue in which she talks about having more kids and starring with Brad Pitt in a new movie.

Angelina Jolie may be the most beautiful woman in the world, but her daughter has no plans to compete with mom.

"She wants to be a boy," Jolie revealed in the August issue of Vanity Fair. "She likes to wear boys' everything. She thinks she's one of the brothers."

According to the 35-year-old star, her daughter likes to dress in track pants and regular suits. So it's surprising to hear that the "Salt" star was most like Shiloh as a child.

"I used to get dressed up in costumes and jump around," the red carpet glamour puss told the magazine. "But at some point, I got closed off, darker."

Jolie doesn't remember what caused the change in her personality, but thinks it just had to do with exposure to the world around her.

"[You] start to realize the world isn’t as you wished it would be, so you deepen," she told Vanity Fair. "Then, as I had kids and got older - being goofy, lighter - it all came back."

These days, Jolie doesn't mind that the tabloids make fun of her partner Brad Pitt's scraggly beard ("I love Brad in every state)" or that they always seem to cycle between reporting about the star couple separating, marrying and being pregnant.

"We're not against getting married. It's just like we already are," she said. "Children are clearly a commitment, a bigger commitment (than marriage). It's for life."

As for expanding their six-strong brood, Jolie said she's isn't pregnant at the moment.

"We're not opposed to it. But we want to make sure we can give everybody special time," she told Vanity Fair. "We want to make sure we don't build a family so big that we don't have absolutely enough time to raise them each really well."

That time may free up soon. Jolie reiterated to Vanity Fair that she doesn't plan to continue acting for much longer.

"It's not the most important thing in my life," she said. "Because I have a happy home….I got back from work last night, and everybody was playing music and dancing and I suddenly found myself dancing around with a bunch of little fun crazy people.”

But the actress said she is not averse to working with her husband before she retires for good.

"We'd have to figure out who’s going to watch the kids, but it’s really about finding the right thing, because we've looked," the actress told Vanity Fair. "I don’t think people want to see people who are really together intimate on-screen. Maybe we have to play bad guys that try to kill each other, so it’s just fun and aggressive, not dealing with some man-woman deal.”
